About the Merge & Split PDF Tool

Our free online Merge & Split PDF tool provides exactly what you need to organize your digital paperwork. Whether you need to combine individual tax forms into a single master document, or extract two specific pages out of a 500-page academic journal, this intuitive tool handles it instantly. Best of all, it performs all modifications directly within your web browser without requiring a server upload.

How to Merge Multiple PDFs

Merging PDFs allows you to take separate files and permanently stitch them together in sequential order. This is highly useful when compiling a portfolio, finalizing monthly reports, or combining digital receipts.

  1. Select the Merge PDFs tab.
  2. Click the main upload area or drag-and-drop all the PDF files you want to combine. You can select multiple files at once.
  3. Review your list of files. If a file shouldn't be there, click the 'X' button to remove it from the queue.
  4. Click the Merge and Download button. The tool will fuse the documents together and automatically trigger a download of your new, unified PDF.

How to Split or Extract Pages from a PDF

If a PDF file is too large to email, or you only need a specific invoice out of an entire year's billing cycle, splitting the document is the solution.

  1. Select the Split / Extract tab.
  2. Upload a single PDF document.
  3. In the Pages to Extract box, type the page numbers you want to keep.
    • Comma separation: Type 1, 5, 9 to extract exactly pages 1, 5, and 9.
    • Dash range: Type 10-20 to extract an entire block of pages from 10 to 20 inclusive.
    • Combination: You can mix them! Typing 1, 3, 10-15 will extract page 1, page 3, and block 10 through 15 into a single new document.
  4. Click Extract and Download to generate the newly split PDF containing only the pages you specified.

100% Secure & Private Processing: Because financial documents and contracts often contain highly sensitive data, security is our priority. We use advanced JavaScript libraries (like pdf-lib) to execute the merging and splitting logic completely locally on your computer. Your PDF files never leave your device. No servers are involved, ensuring ultimate data privacy.
